"In May of 2001, I suddenly developed erectile dysfunction after a 100 mile bike ride. I had been riding about 5 years at the time and had never experienced any problems associated with riding. I went to a urologist who was part of a large Urology group where I lived. I was told it was probably psychological and was prescribed Viagra to ‘tide me over’ until things returned to normal. I attained second and third opinions from other urologists who believed that it probably was not related to riding. During this time, my wife and I had been searching the internet for more information. She, more than I, believed strongly that the ride had caused damage causing the ED. I had been reluctant to blame riding because I enjoyed it so much.

During our internet searches, we came across information about Dr. Goldstein and his work with this type of problem. "I have to confess I am so pleased. It was a long wait but as of December of 2002, I have regained most of my sexual response that I lost following my hysterectomy almost three years ago. I am currently forty-seven. The doctor who performed my surgery told me I needed to give my body a year to recover from the surgery. When my response did not return, two different urologists in Boston urged me to see Dr. Goldstein.

I came to see Dr. G. in October of 2001. The news I got after my first visit was not very good: I was androgen deficient, with diminished sensation in my genitals from a childhood accident and diminished blood flow post-stimulation. But Dr. Goldstein told me he thought he could help me.

"I found Dr. Goldstein's book ‘The Potent Male’ in the local library describing several solutions to erectile dysfunction, ED. I sent him a letter and made my first visit in 1992. This was after lots of other attempts to find help. The 6 hours of travel was well worth a solution.

Before my visit to Dr. Goldstein, being in my late 50's, I was having more and more trouble maintaining an erection during intercourse and this caused me to hurry to reach my goal at the expense of my wife. I felt guilty for robbing her of her enjoyment. I had to find a solution for my wife's sake and mine. My ED is perhaps the classic problem associated with getting older.
